How does the oil flow through a JP, JX, or 1Z oil filter?

Is the pressure line on the inside or the outside?

I want to install an oil cooler on my bus with a friend, and the hoses leading to the cooler are different (one has a braided stainless steel outer layer). I plan to use the one with the braided hose for the pressure line.

Starting from the oil filter, the oil arrives "externally" and flows through the threaded bolt to the engine.
Conversely, the rubber plate under the outer holes would seal off the flow .
