Hello,

I just read a post about timing belts (belt wear) /viewtopic.php?t=3857.
In the photos http://www.digitoms.de/ali, my timing belt (TDI 1.9 - 85 KW - PD - 47000 Km - Year 2001 - Seat Alhambra) is shown.
Is this exactly a 'surface rust' case, or something worse?

Regards,
xToms

Hello, yes, that's what it looks like. The movement of the two parts of the camshaft gear in the micrometer range causes wear, which turns into rust.
That's the case with the engines, and it's not a major issue.
