... and its only flaw was the following:
01117 027
Load signal for generator terminal DF: implausible signal, occurring sporadically.
The error has appeared before, and the person at VW mentioned something about voltage spikes that the control unit then registers as this error, and that this is supposedly normal for older vehicles (35i, 1Z, 220,000 km, '96). Does anyone know if that person was right, or if I'm likely to be facing another repair soon? Unfortunately, I could only manage to get the 1551 (GRA), and of course, he hadn't provided the relevant documents.
Regards,
Dominique Kurz.

Hi,
I once had the battery terminals connected incorrectly, and I experienced a similar issue. The mechanic also mentioned something about voltage spikes. The clamp was loose.
Good luck.

Hello!
I've owned a 1Z model since January 1995, and it currently has 201,000 kilometers on the odometer.
Since the first inspection at 30,000 km, I have repeatedly received this message, but my workshop has never done anything about it.
So, hopefully nothing is too serious.
Best regards, D.
