Hello everyone!

I discovered that there is oil present in the intake manifold of my AFN engine, even though the EGR valve is disconnected. The oil is located in the area where the plastic hose from the intercooler meets the intake manifold, right near the EGR valve. It's dripping out of the clamp, which I've tightened.

Where does all this oil come from anyway?

Thank you in advance.

best regards, mat

Crankcase ventilation!

It's totally normal!

Manuel.

There was so much oil inside the hose that I couldn't tilt it when I removed it, or it would have spilled oil all over the engine.

Is this a 1Z engine with 157,000 kilometers?

I'll probably have to clean the entire intake manifold next time icon_smile.gif.

Spring cleaning of the intake manifold.

hello!!!!

I was almost certain it was related to the ventilation. Can someone explain where I can find the ventilation system and how I can best solve the problem, for example, by venting it to the outside?

Thank you for the quick responses.

best regards, mat

This topic has been discussed before (use the search function).

For a good reason, it has been required for many years to draw these gases in for combustion rather than releasing them into the environment.

The oil content doesn't cause any harm either.

Besides that, the loader is also leaking some oil, especially in the zero-pressure range (i.e., when it's not actively lifting). This oil then accumulates over time.

My intake manifold is also completely coated in oil, and when I say 1L / 25,000 km, I'm not talking about a high oil consumption icon_wink.gif.
