Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the loading pressure control.
Audi 80 B4 with 90 hp.
I have engine code 1Z and no VTG charger.
My question is, how easy does the charging adjustment need to be?
I cannot move the lever by hand. However, when I use a lever, it moves relatively easily. Is this normal?
If I blow into the printing cylinder, the rod doesn't move at all. My eyes are almost about to pop out.
Now, just for fun, I sucked on the hose leading to the pressure canister, and lo and behold, I found oil in the hose. (The canister seems to be full of oil.) Is this normal?

Thank you for your help.

Hi,
You can blow as much as you want, but you won't be able to move the wastegate valves at all. They only start to move around approximately 0.5 bar, and you probably won't be able to achieve that. That's perfectly normal.

Thank you for the response.
Hmm, that's a good start.
But what about the oil in the pressure can?
Can't they just be nice and normal, or??

Greetings

Hi

I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Where the pressure is released, there is already oil from the KGE in the air, which, of course, also penetrates into the can during the repeated filling of the can with pressure (and pressure release).

Unless, in all other identical engines, the intercooler would be oil-free.
