Hello,

In my Christel's Ibiza, I installed an LDA (Low-Drift Airflow sensor) from Conrad (with a range of -1 to icon_smile_thumb_up.gif,5 bar), which I would also like to use in my Polo because of its measurement range and design.

Of course, Conrad has now removed the item from its product range icon_evil.gif.

Of the LDAs that I've seen while browsing the internet, the 22800 from Racimex http://www.racimex.de/content/de/auto/racimex/zusatzinstrumente.php seems...
It is visually most likely to be similar in design to the Conrad LDA.

So, I called around in the Saarbrücken area, but nowhere had that item in stock.

So, I ordered it (at a very cheap price), but the item is now 3 weeks overdue, and according to the dealer's inquiry with Racimex, they don't know when they will receive any more icon_evil.gif icon_evil.gif.

I've found the Conrad-LDA box again.
It says "LTR Germany" on it, without any further information.

Google doesn't return any useful results for "LTR"... Does anyone know who's behind LTR or how to access their product range?
Gruß Ulf

Um, that looks more like a VDO replica. Why don't you buy one from VDO?

PS: Does anyone know where I can find LDAs with a diameter of less than 52mm?

P.S.: Does anyone know where I can find LDA (Laser Doppler Anemometry) systems with a diameter of less than 52mm?

That is probably a bigger problem.
There's a source for those, but I believe you have to buy them in quantities of 500 at a time. If I remember correctly, the LDAs would then have a diameter of 26mm.
So, let's keep looking for an alternative...

Best, Andy.

No problem at all. Available for everyone, as a single item or in larger quantities (or you can pick it up directly).

The LDA is available here:

No, the VDO gauge doesn't fit the measurement range at all: 0 - 3 bar!
The ASZ (presumably a pressure vessel) is charged (pressurized) to approximately 1.3 bar, and I also want to have the suction range (-> LDA technical article).

@BertilViewing profile: Bertil:
85 euros is quite a significant discount compared to the Racimex's list price of around 40 euros.
The design would, of course, be completely the opposite of the other instruments, with white numbers on a black background.

And, in my opinion, the Sandlers' "calibration" will likely only refer to the zero point, but probably not to the entire scale.
If the zero point on the Racimex is not correct, you can slightly adjust the mechanism, and hopefully it will be fine (at least, that's what I did with Christel's Conrad/LTR-LDA, and it worked quite accurately).

EDIT:
Oops, I just saw that Sandler also has a VDO with a pressure of -1. . . icon_smile_thumb_up.gif,5 bar.
Hopefully, it's still available. I'll check and see!

Exactly! My VDO also has a range of -1.5 to icon_smile_thumb_up.gif.5 bar, which is why I made that comment icon_wink.gif.

Either I'm blind, or you misunderstood my question. I'm looking for an LDA (lens diameter adapter) that is smaller than 52mm. Do you have one available at Sandtler?

.
Yes, I couldn't find any information about that part on the Siemens VDO website, which is why I wasn't familiar with it.

I've found a dealer here who, according to the phone call, actually has it in stock... let's see.
Thank you for your tips icon_biggrin.gif.

... and I also want to know about the suction area (-> see specialized articles on LDA).

Hi everyone,

ich habe mir mal ein Manometer mit -1 bis 0bar besorgt und bei mir vor dem Turbo kurz hinter dem LMM angeschlossen, um mal zu sehen, wie groß der Unterdruck bei max. P is.
The result was either disappointing or reassuring. The vacuum that developed, despite the normal air filter, was less than 50 mbar. The needle barely moved. I strongly suspect that this won't change significantly in the intake manifold area, and that the turbo spins freely at idle...

Therefore, I believe that an LDA (Linear Displacement Actuator) with a negative display range is pointless as long as the display is linear. And it is unlikely that a mechanical display that represents the range of -0.1 bar to 0 bar in the same way as 0 to 1 bar would be available as a standard product.

Therefore, my advice to Ulf, if he absolutely needs a display with a negative range: for less than 10€, get a backlit digital display from www.reichelt.de and connect the signal from the LD sensor. Then, you could use a 3 1/2-digit display to measure negative mbar values.

Greetings.

Eike.

Hi Eike,

I don't.
Simply to monitor the function of the bypass valve and to detect a potential charger damage caused by sucked-in leaves or similar debris in a timely manner (again, a reminder about the technical article), a LDA with a suction area makes sense.

I understand that it's difficult to monitor the air filter with that.
