Hello,
How can you tell if a PD element is defective?
Can this [problem/issue] be caused by something like a faulty charger?

Regarding the incorrectly filled engine oil without the VW 50501 specification, I received the following statement in another forum:
************************************************************************
If it was 'just' the turbocharger that failed, then it wasn't due to the oil. At least not in the sense that it was a specific 'PD' oil. After all, even the turbodiesels without 'PD' injection systems have them.

If one or more of the PD elements had failed, the situation would obviously be different. In that case, one would have to assume that the problem was indeed caused by the wrong type of oil.

The statement is actually completely logical.

The oil should at least meet the VW 50500 standard, as this is the specification required for VW TDI engines (as far as I know, the first G1 TDI was introduced in 1983).

If it doesn't even have that, one could try to attribute any potential turbocharger damage to the absence of this standard.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

And then I also noticed that the invoice stated 4.75 liters were filled and charged, even though the owner's manual for the 1.4 TDI specifies that only 3.8 liters, including the oil filter, can fit!
Could excessive oil, after six months, potentially lead to defects?

How many threads do we currently have discussing the same problem?

Yeah, it's getting annoying. Let's get to it... icon_wink.gif

Here's the main thread, that's where it continues.
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.
