Hi,
Last weekend, I replaced the driver's side door lock on my Passat 3B (AFN) (you know, the microswitch...

), and I almost had a heart attack when I tested the lock and the central locking on the driver's side didn't work: it only worked on the other doors and the trunk.
In this test, the entire interior trim, including the window regulators, was removed. After the window regulator motor was reconnected, everything worked perfectly. Okay, that's nice and good, but I'm still surprised that this seems to be related to the window regulator motor. So, how does that contribute to the door locking mechanism, especially since VW doesn't have any comfort closing functions...?
Best regards,
Marcus.
