Lock System Not Blinking? Troubleshooting Guide.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to program a new key for my car and found a bizarre instruction manual for it online.
Lock the car from the inside, turn the ignition on and off, and press the unlock or lock button several times!
It didn't work!!!

Actually, everything is still the same. Except that when locking the car with the remote control, the indicator lights no longer flash, but the car still locks.

Can anyone help me figure out how to get the indicator lights to work again when I lock the car?

Hi,

If the blinking function is enabled in the comfort control unit, a faulty microswitch in one of the locks could indicate an open door. However, if there is no blinking, it suggests that either the function is not enabled or there is no signal being sent.

When you open it, the car blinks twice as usual, but it doesn't blink when you lock it. That's a bit strange!
Do I have a Komfortsteuergerät, because for example, I can't close my windows with the remote control?

I've experienced the same problem. Usually, I would get the confirmation (blinking lights and honking) on the second or third attempt of locking the car with the remote. As mentioned above, it was likely the microswitch in the lock.

Your warning light is probably not working anymore either (if the problem is related to the contact in the door).

The window closing function via remote control does not work on VW vehicles.

Using VAG-COM, you will likely receive an error code that will tell you something about the faulty contact (including which one it is). I don't have the exact text readily available.

That's exactly what happened with my G4, and it turned out the tailgate lock was defective (microswitch).

If the G4 has a central control unit, it also has a comfort control unit.
Welche Funktionen damit erledigt werden ist Aussattungsabhängig (elektrische Spiegel, ZV mit und ohne Funk, el. Schiebedach, el. (Sitting...).
Closing the windows automatically was not a feature on any G4 series model (it was only available on some AUDI models).
