Hello,

"I sold my old car today for €4,000, and I wanted to ask you what I need to pay attention to in the contract?"
I used the standard contract from ADAC and filled it out completely, but do I need to include a clause somewhere stating that I am not providing any warranty, or is that automatic?
As a private seller, are you legally obligated to provide a one-year warranty if you don't explicitly state otherwise?

And what about unsubscribing?
I'm going to drive the car to their house tomorrow.
Can I take my license plates with me and deregister the vehicle at home?
If so, does the buyer then need a confirmation of deactivation?
And does the buyer need the vehicle registration document, or do I need the vehicle registration document to deregister the vehicle?
Do I even have to bring the vehicle registration document when I deregister the car?

I would actually like to keep my license plates as a souvenir.

I can't give you any specific information about the warranty, but I think the ADAC form probably excludes it, or that it doesn't apply in private transactions anyway.

To unsubscribe, you will need...
- License plate (will be scratched off)
- Letter (Cancellation will be recorded)
- Certificate (will be retained)

However, instead of deregistering and registering the vehicle, a simpler (and potentially cheaper) option is to simply transfer the registration. However, the buyer must initiate this process, or you will need a power of attorney from them.

If he lives in the same district, he will be assigned the same license plate number again. If you want to keep yours, then he will have to reprint them (at his own expense).

Regards,
Private.

I mean that the warranty can be excluded in transactions between private individuals (!!!).
You should definitely do that.

Merchants cannot exclude the warranty; or rather, they can, but it would have no effect.

Best regards, D.
