Hello everyone!
Install a 1.9 TDI Golf IV engine (AHF model, manufactured in 1999) into a VW T3. The last and most critical issue is that the immobilizer in the dashboard can only be deactivated using the vehicle identification number (VIN) from the donor vehicle. Since I got the cockpit from a car recycling center, I don't have the original number. My VW dealer says there's no way to fix this. Does anyone know how to bypass or reprogram this? Or does anyone have a cockpit with a chassis number?
Best regards.
Mike. |

Hmm...
I don't think you need those; you can probably learn everything just fine without them.
They also tried to rip me off at VW, but even with the small tester, they managed to connect the new control unit to the speedometer.
(I calibrated the new speedometer myself using VAG-Com.) |

Hello!
I can't speak for VW, but I replaced the instrument cluster in my Audi A6 (year 1998) two years ago. I definitely didn't have the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) from the donor unit, and they were still able to reprogram it without any problems. It seems to involve the serial number of the immobilizer. Apparently, workshops can use this to request a kind of activation code online, which is then valid for that day. This code was then used to adjust the immobilizer in my car. I think it probably took around 30-45 minutes in total.
Regards,

The VW partner needs to obtain the Immo number from the MSG. With this number, they can retrieve a 7-digit code that allows them to unlock the MSG (although the dealer must do this, as the code contains information like the date and operating number). Afterwards, you can connect the MSG to the immobilizer system. |

Or, instead of that, get rid of the estate car and install a Lupo WFS (available for the T4 as well).
This is a small Valeo module that can be hidden inconspicuously.
Then you can keep your AI. |
