Dear fellow enthusiasts,
I have a simple (or perhaps silly?) question:
The relay 109 is constantly being mentioned! Where can I find this 'delicate' relay 109? In my car (A4 Avant, AFN, 10/96), I found only relay 219 in the black engine control unit box, along with two other relays that have the same number.
Even in the wiring diagram, there is no relay 109 in the motor electronics.
Or have I simply overlooked it?

Hi,
You need to check the central electrical panel, usually located on the left side, underneath the dashboard - that's where you'll find things like the windshield washer relay, etc.
Here's an (old) picture of my Ibiza. The Relais 19 has since been replaced by a Relais 99 (a more comfortable wiper system).
Best regards,
Jan.

I'm not entirely sure how it looks on an Audi, it might have a different part number.
To figure it out yourself:
Take a look at the wiring diagram to see which relay can maintain the voltage supply from the battery positive terminal to the engine control unit even after the ignition is switched off.
This is the relay, which is commonly referred to as 'Relay 109' within this forum.
Regards,
Private.

As far as I know, the '109' in their vehicle doesn't actually mean 109!
