Hello everyone.
"On my 1Z, I have the following peculiarity:"
After driving for a few minutes with a cold engine, if I have to stop, for example, at a traffic light, the engine suddenly runs at a lower RPM and transmits noticeably more vibrations to the body. I've talked about this with other TDI drivers, but it seems like I'm the only one experiencing this behavior.
Looking at this "switching" process with VAG Com, the engine speed only drops slightly. Subjectively, it feels more significant. It's as if the engine suddenly starts running under load, like when you turn on the air conditioning.
Can anyone give me a tip?
Best regards, Benno.

Hi,
Read the coolant and diesel temperatures with the engine both cold and hot, and check if the readings are plausible. -> Diagnose Engine Control Unit.
Best regards, Rainer.

'The 1Z didn't have this issue, but the ATJ is extreme. When it's cold, it idles around 900 RPM. However, when the engine is warm, the idle speed has two levels: When the clutch is disengaged, it drops to about 830 RPM, but when I'm stopped, it's fixed at 800 RPM. I'm going to increase the idle speed a bit; the rattling in combination with the exhaust system is starting to annoy me, as is the slow ticking. Also, it's not exactly conducive to starting without using the accelerator; sometimes I accelerate like a steamship due to the difficult-to-control clutch.'
Best regards, WarLord.
