hello everyone,
I have a Golf IV 1.9 TDI (not a PD engine); with a tuning box, I managed to increase the power to a respectable 129 horsepower.
I know that for sure, because I had it tested on a roller dynamometer.
'See the article about power boxes and the possibility of pistons burning out, but everything is fine for me.'
Now I have to say that it's working really well, but its performance decreases when the outside temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius.
Okay, I've heard that the Golf IV with a 150 HP PD engine not only has one glow plug on the right side, but also one on the left. If that's true, can I include it in my system as well?
or would it perhaps be better to install a fuel tank from Mercedes-Benz underneath the apron?

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

'Hello.'

hello everyone,

I know that for sure because I had it checked on a roller testing stand.

Now I have to say that it's working really well, but its performance decreases when the outside temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius.

Hello there!

If you haven't checked the nozzles, you can't know if everything is okay with the engine for the pistons.

The 150 hp PD model has the low-temperature coolant reservoir located centrally, in front of the air conditioning condenser and the water cooler (or between them).

A large air conditioning unit also has disadvantages: it requires a higher volume of airflow, which results in slower response times.
In my opinion, it hardly makes a difference without increased boost pressure anyway. When do we even have temperatures of 30°C? The cost of a larger intercooler with installation must certainly be around €800-€1000. For that price, you only get about 5% more power at 30°C.

'I've already ordered a PDE intercooler and the intercooler from a VW Sharan, or Ford Galaxy, for next winter. I'm curious to see what the engine will say about it! However, I think you should only install one or more intercoolers if you use your car as a summer vehicle or even for short acceleration runs. A friend of mine has two intercoolers installed, and in winter, his car barely reaches 80 degrees Celsius over a distance of 50 kilometers – not fun when you're wearing a thick jacket! He doesn't care about the throttle response; he drives with 1.4 bar of boost pressure and has already driven 35,000 km. However, he's also done other modifications to his engine. But CHIP plus an intercooler is great; I've taken his 1Z up to 235 km/h, and the front wheels still slip and have traction problems in fourth gear on wet roads (if you provoke it, otherwise not).'
Bye, Matze.
