Hello,

I have a question.
A weasel chewed on a radiator hose.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to prevent this from happening again?
I couldn't find anything useful using the search function.

Regards,
Michael.

P.S. The car is an A6 C4 1.9 TDI.

People swear by various methods. Some use ultrasonic devices, while others use a more extreme approach with high-voltage plates that are supposed to repel martens.
Some people have spread dog hair in the engine compartment to deter martens.
I can't say whether it works or not, as I haven't experienced any problems so far.

If you had actually used the search function, you would have noticed this.

The title of the thread pretty much says it all.

Hello,

Thank you. However, I hadn't seen the article, and I must admit that I was only searching for information about badger bites. Sorry, I will search more thoroughly next time.

Regards,
Michael.

Hello Michael,

ich habe bei mir um die dünnen Schläuche Plastik-Kabelschutzrohre (vom Elektriker) und um die dickeren (Heizung usw.) dünnen, leicht zu biegenden Maschendraht gewickelt. SeIt's quiet now.

Best regards,
Albrecht.

As long as the car isn't brand new from the assembly line, a thorough engine cleaning (without wax!) is sufficient.

For those who want to spend money, an electrically charged wire mesh is the only sensible thing to install. icon_wink.gif
