Golf 4 Dashboard Light Dim? Fix It Now!

Hi! I've always been completely satisfied with my Golf 4. I recently borrowed a newer Golf 4 (1 year old), and I noticed that the dashboard lights are much brighter than in mine (which is already 5 years old). However, the brightness adjustment wheel is already set to its maximum. Is there anything I can do to make my dashboard lights brighter again?
