Hello everyone!
The timing belt replacement is due soon on my car, at 90,000 km.

A few questions:

Should the water pump be replaced at the same time? Is it also problematic with the AHU (Air Handling Unit)?
'If you're already taking the belt off anyway...? What's the approximate cost of a water pump?'

2) Was ist mit der KW-Schraube? Bis zu welchen BJ ist die zu beachten? Or is the AHU...?
because it's less problematic?

3) What else should one consider, if one is already doing something?

Where can I get this done at the most affordable price? I'm not going back to that other place; I wanted to have it taken care of by Bosch.
Are there any cheaper alternatives available? Like ATU or something similar?

Thank you for any advice.

Regards,

Capernaum.

Hi there!

The water pump has nothing to do with the timing belt.

If you look into the engine compartment, you'll see that it is driven by the serpentine belt.
However, there are indeed engines where the water pump is driven by the timing chain.

I believe the KW screw should already be a 12.8 grade on the AHU.

I will not tolerate anyone dealing with old parts or repainting services!
I've dealt with various ATUs (presumably a specific company or service), and every single time, they messed something up. They didn't call back despite previous warnings about deadlines. There were multiple instances of incorrect price quotes (the price for two items was actually only for one), and sometimes they simply didn't complete the work.

Besides buying a can of oil, I won't be doing anything else there.

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

... there was another T.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Oops, so I misunderstood something?!

I thought the water pump was also driven by the timing belt in the 1Z engine.

Ash on my head! / I am ashamed!
