Hello!

Performance and reliability issues often arise when...
Check the airtightness of the air ducts. This is usually done by visual inspection.
and/or earwax, or (with more effort) soapy water, etc.
used.
Wouldn't it be nice if the average, talented TDI enthusiast...
If a reliable method were available, it would probably cost something.

The speech mentions "extracting" data from the system using metal containers.
He fixed it with the standard quick-release fasteners. Then, it will need...
you can still get a compressor with a pressure gauge - there are air pumps like that, after all.
But how do you solve the valve issue?
Which cans fit (Bonduelle delicate vegetables, Handelmaier's mustard, Nutella)?

I would love to see some specific tips (perhaps summarized in a dedicated article sometime?).
Self-help guides are always worth exploring.

Greetings,
Klaus.

Hi there,

Okay, to be honest: You should be able to measure the diameter of the hose that runs from the turbocharger towards the intercooler and find a suitable container for it. I think these hoses are also different on various engines (ASV, 1Z, ASZ, etc.) because they use different turbochargers.

But here's a tip anyway:
Take a plastic bottle of the appropriate diameter and drill a hole in the bottom. Insert a bicycle valve (car valve!) from the inside, with about 1 cm of rubber hose still attached on each side. Glue the entire assembly securely using Pattex adhesive. Then, insert the bottle into the pressurized hose and secure it tightly with a large hose clamp (available at hardware stores).
You can use any pump to pressurize your system. Foot pumps for car tires with a pressure gauge are particularly helpful.
It works wonderfully for me like this.
