Hello,
I'm having problems with my Audi 80 B4 1.9 TDI, engine code: 1Z.
The car doesn't start when it's warm outside or when the engine is still warm.
The error memory scan revealed:
- Temperature sensor for intake manifold preheating, mass error.
- Slider track error, positive pole.
Okay, I'm going to have the temperature sensor replaced first. However, I don't understand what 'Schieberweggeber' means at all. Could it be a part of the fuel injection pump?
Thank you for your help!
Regards,
Cow man.

Exactly. The engine control unit reports the fuel injection amount.
Up to 94 pots.
Starting at 94, inductive with 2 coils. 1993 Audi 80 B4 1Z

Hi there,
Okay, the error messages are quite bizarre. Which device or software is generating these errors? Does the device also output error codes?
That's probably the charge air temperature sensor, as well as the control valve actuator.
The latter is located in the fuel injection pump. There, a rotary solenoid moves the flow control valve (previously, the shaft would protrude and be connected to the throttle cable). The feedback sensor now sends a signal back to the EDC (Engine Control Unit) so that it knows the position of the valve. In the past, this was a potentiometer, which has since been replaced by a contactless sensor.
'The fact that the issue occurs in both instances and seems related to the power supply (ground - positive) makes me suspicious. Therefore, I would first check the entire wiring harness and all connectors. Additionally, a diagnostic system can be used to verify the plausibility and functionality of the sensor values. The often-criticized relay 109 should also be ruled out.'
Therefore, I recommend that you first study the various technical articles and troubleshooting guides, because otherwise you might be blindly groping around without identifying the root cause of the problem. For example, problems with Warmstar devices can sometimes be caused by faulty starters or batteries. A systematic approach is therefore essential. Also, don't forget to use the search function; it can reveal a lot of useful information if you use the right keywords.

I think he's talking about that. I also . 1993 Audi 80 B4 1Z

The diagnostic software is from Bosch. I believe one of the errors had code 020D and the other had code 021F.
The error is really strange, and there's actually a very, very long story behind it...

I will let you know tomorrow what's going on...

@wolfi
I understand what this is supposed to be.
but the text is really messed up.
Even the error codes might not be correct.
20Dh would be 525d.
21 hours and 5 minutes would be 543 days.
Should I ask again, or would it be better to use a tool like VAG-COM directly?
Oh yeah... and try using the search function with terms like ';-)error codes 1Z' or '}error codes AGR'...

Apparently, the problem was with the temperature sensor. After replacing it, the car is working perfectly again and starts reliably in any outside or engine temperature.
Thank you again!
