Hello,
I was just wondering what the cost is for replacing an injection pump.
Approximately how much does a Golf 3 TDI 1Z fuel pump cost? And that's without including the pump itself.
Installation/Removal only + adjustment.
Where is the best place to get this done?
I think it will be quite expensive at VAG.
What do you think about ATU and similar companies?
Thank you in advance for the answers!
Hello.

It's hard to say exactly how much it will cost. It always depends on the hourly rates. You should probably estimate around 3-4 hours of work.
I would advise against using ATU. There are more competent options available, and in the long run, they are probably also more affordable.
Why are you asking? And why is the emphasis so much on 'without a pump'? If you're planning to get something like that from online marketplaces, it's possible that your old, slightly defective one might still be in better condition than the other items available. Also, a well-equipped Bosch service center might be able to repair your pump. It doesn't cost anything to ask.

At VW, it will cost you 2.2 hours of labor.
It's a fixed price, and you only pay that amount, regardless of how long it takes.
Regards,
Manuel.
