Hello everyone,
I was able to acquire a Thermo Top C. Unfortunately, it only includes the unit itself, the diesel metering pump, a bracket (supposedly for a Passat 3BG), the air blower, and a few hoses.
Okay, here it is. I don't know much about a SH (presumably a stove or heater), practically nothing. I took it apart once and was happy to see that it apparently hasn't been used at all. The glow plug is perfectly clean, and the inside of the combustion chamber is a nice golden color.
I contacted Webasto and am still waiting for a response. I also tried searching here, but haven't found anything really helpful for my problem yet.
Where exactly will the device be installed?
2. What do I need (specifically, what wiring harness) to connect to the Climatronic system?
3. What about water circulation? Do I need a separate pump?
So, you're seeing a lot of questions, and I would appreciate any kind of help.
Thank you in advance.
Matthias.

If you could take a few pictures, it would be easier to see what's there and what's not.
What you fundamentally still need is some kind of "on/off switch," usually a timer, but for testing, a simple switch connected to +12V will also work. What kind of wiring is included?
To connect to the climate control system, you only need one cable from the "power switch" to a pin on the climate control unit. This activates the heater function (turns on the fan, etc.) as soon as the climate control unit detects +12V on that pin.
The water pump should be mounted on the Thermotop, at least that's the case with my Thermotop Z/C. In any case, you need an electric water pump if you want the auxiliary heater to run as a standalone heater and not as an auxiliary heater (i.e., without the vehicle's engine).
I can tell you more about the installation location tonight; I don't have any documents available at the moment.
Regards,
Guste.

The installation location for the Golf 4 is in front of the left wheel arch, below the battery. When you remove the bumper, you'll see the longitudinal beam on the side, under the battery. A vehicle-specific bracket is attached here, and the SH (presumably a component) is hung in it. The exhaust air should be directed downwards and to the side, while the intake air comes from above (ideally between the fender and the battery). The water hoses should then be directed towards the interior and the engine.

Thanks, Julian, that's already a lot of information. I suspected it would be located down there, as there's not much other space. According to the online listing, it's just a supplementary heater, which I was already fearing. (It's from an advertisement in the local newspaper for an unbelievable 45€, or am I just being naive...). Therefore, there's also no electric water pump that needs to be connected. Also, the wiring harness to the vehicle is completely missing. And I'm sure I won't get far with the water hoses either. Oh, and I don't have a clock either. And I haven't figured out a way to draw diesel yet.
Do you think this project is worthwhile, or should I just sell it on eBay and be done with it? I'd really like to have it nice and warm in the mornings during the winter, because it seems like the days are getting longer.
Matthias.

The water pump is also available separately; if necessary, you can take one from a Thermo Top E. There are plenty of simple timer clocks (model 1530) available on eBay. I don't know if the pump is also powered by your heater, but I think it's quite possible. Gruß Christian

According to Christian, there is hope. However, it needs to work properly, so I need to get the correct connection cables for the water circulation system. Does anyone have connection diagrams or something similar?

Hi,
What type of connector is it exactly? C or Z? Gruß Christian
