Hello everyone,
My clutch is starting to annoy me a bit.
This manifests itself primarily by the clutch engaging very late. This means there's a very long "dead zone" before the clutch engages. Quick starts at a busy intersection, for example, are hardly possible unless you keep your foot on the clutch the entire time.
"Furthermore, sometimes when stopped at a traffic light, a rattling, grinding noise occurs as soon as the car comes to a halt, especially when the driver is not in gear and has not pressed the clutch pedal. This noise immediately disappears when the clutch pedal is pressed again and released."
During my vacation, I noticed that when overtaking, the 3rd gear seemed to get stuck when shifting, and then it smelled almost like burnt rubber after full acceleration. I sometimes experience a similar, but milder, smell when accelerating fully from a low speed in 5th gear, for example, starting around 80 km/h.
The usual test, engaging third gear and releasing the clutch, caused the engine to stall as expected.
I'm not sure exactly where to start looking. Could the clutch adjustment be stuck? Or is the clutch simply worn out?
Sure, no problem.

You're right, I agree.
But somehow, the clutch needs to be adjusted there as well.
Anyway, this problem is quite annoying in the long run, and a new coupling isn't exactly cheap. VW Golf III TDI Avenue, MKB 1Z, EZ96
