Hello,
If I want to adjust the injection timing using the TDI graph, the program offers me...
Four different 1Z options to choose from:
80 1Z 92-2.94
80 1Z >2.94 (>ver.D08)
80 1Z >2.94 (rev. D09)
All 1Z 1994>
92-2.94 - bedeutet für mich von 1992 bis Februar 1994. But what does it mean?
>2.94 (>ver.D08) or >2.94 (ver.D09)
Does that mean each time until February 1994, with different software versions of the ECU ?
And why are these listed, if the setting 80 1Z 92-2.94 covers this period ?
Does "All 1Z" then apply to all 1Z models from February 1994 ?
I'm a little confused . I have my 1Z, manufactured in 4/94, configured with the setting "All 1Z," but I would like to know if that's correct.
Okay, ich werde den Text übersetzen und dir dann eine Erklärung geben. Bitte gib mir den deutschen Text.

hello,
>2.94 (>ver.D08) or >2.94 (ver.D09) simply indicates different STG (Steuergerät - control unit) versions. This should be visible when accessing the STG with VAG-Com (the identification/designation of the STG is displayed in the window if it is recognized).
While I'm not 100% familiar with the 1Z engine, I've also observed similar differences in my AEL engine. When adjusting the injection timing, there's a distinction made based on the "TDI graph" and the engine speed (1000 rpm or 1200 rpm), and this depends on the software version of the engine control unit.
I have two almost identical ECUs (Engine Control Units), but with different software versions. I was initially puzzled as to why the engine suddenly only ran at 1000 RPM during adjustment after replacing the ECU.
To be sure which one belongs to you, you would either need to inquire with the "friendly" staff, consult the original Audi repair manual, or list your ECU (Engine Control Unit) identification number here so that someone can provide you with information.

@MichaelJ
If your FGST number is greater than 8CR150000, then you have it correct. Before this FGST number, you would have had software version D09. The D09 version was already in use at the end of 1992/beginning of 1993. Only the very first 1Z models in the 80 TDI had the D08 version, and that was until the middle/end of 1992.
Your engine control unit should have the part number 028 906 021 ET.

Hello,
I also have a question about that.
I also wanted to check the injection timing on my Golf III TDI 90PS 1Z, manufactured in March 1996.
So, I've now connected the VAGCOM twice, borrowed from a friend, and tried to access measurement block group 000. But it automatically switches to group 001 and displays that instead.
'Does this group 000 not exist for all 1Z engines? The engine control unit is 028 906 021 BF. I'm somehow at a loss. I would have had it done at the workshop, but I can't really plan long-term, and they want you to register two weeks in advance.'
His VagCom version was 303.1, as far as I remember. At least, the TDIGraph program was in the directory. I didn't see the button for it, because I can't activate group 000, and therefore I can't click the button to return to the basic settings.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you very much.
Oliver.

It's highly likely that this wasn't a full version of VAG-COM.
Then that group 000 doesn't exist.

He should really update to the latest version, 311.2.
For users who have properly registered, this is free of charge, and all measurement groups and other functions are included.

Thank you for the information.
He seems to be using the unregistered version, as he probably only uses it once a year to read the error codes.
I just ordered the full version.
Best regards,
Oliver.
