Hi there!
'My turbo, or whatever it is, always leaks a little oil. It's right where the turbocharger connects to the exhaust. But I can't see any blue smoke. It only happens when the engine is cold and idling, and I give it a little gas. The boost pressure is okay. The boost control valve hoses are also clean. There's no oil in the exhaust. I even disconnected the EGR valve, just in case it's causing the problem by recirculating into the intake manifold. Now I have two concerns: either the turbo is failing, or it's a problem with the oil catch can/crankcase ventilation system. If I remove the breather hose on top of the valve cover, a few drops of oil come out.'
How can I check my turbo for oil leaks? The intercooler system, including the intercooler cooler, seems to be okay so far. There's a very, very slight oil film, but the intercooler itself is clean.
Can you tell if there's too much oil in the engine, even if the dipstick reading seems normal? If the dipstick is inaccurate, that might be the source of the problem!
Thank you for the answers!
Have a nice day!
