Hello, experts.

Here's another update on the issue of engine misfires at idle. My Audi has 190,000 km on it, and for the past 5,000 km, the engine has been...
Problems regulating the idle speed (wrumwrumrwrum). Furthermore, the following issue occurs: when accelerating to full throttle.
After a few seconds of sudden power loss on the Autobahn, the engine resumes operation but only at 150-160 km/h.
The fuel consumption, when driving moderately (mostly on the highway at 120-130 km/h), is 7-7.5 liters, which I consider to be good for a 1...
I think I'm having too much, but otherwise everything is normal.

Mein VAG Mensch hat zwei Einspritzdüsen gewechselt, geändert hat das rein garbichts. Er mentioned something else.
'It's likely that the fuel injection pump or the injector drive unit is faulty. What do you think? Should I have it replaced?'
'Do you want to continue driving it? And if you do decide to replace it, should you go to a VAG service center or a smaller, private workshop?'

Thank you for your suggestions.

Rainer.

Hi,

Have you checked the ESP settings?

The word "Wrum" somehow sounds familiar to me... and lo and behold, the search function even finds it: icon_wink.gif

No, I haven't gotten your lovely program yet! But I'm looking forward to it, now that I've read all of this.

The VAG technician also provided me with a measurement log, showing varying injection quantities.
but no error message.

How do I check the pump's settings? And another question, how long will it take me to create the adapter using this program?

Greetings,

Rainer.

You probably won't believe this, but the search function can help you here too!

It completely depends on your skills.
However, the demo version doesn't include Group 0, so you can't set any basic settings.

Hello again,

I dug out the measurement log; maybe you can find some use for the information.

08 - Reading measurement data block:
Ad group 1:
790/min
7.0 mg/H
1,600 V
33.3 °C

Ad group 3:
790/min
422 mg/H
408 mg/H
44%

Ad group 13:
3.02 mg/H
0.98 mg/H
2.04 mg/H

Ad group 7:
21° C
17.1°C
45.9 °C

Hinter den Block 13 hat der VAG Mechaniker ein Ausrufezeichen gemacht. I'll just add that.
assuming that the three measured values should be the same there.

This weekend, I will be traveling to Germany and, if possible, visiting the Werkstadt.
I'll get the ESP adjusted, thanks for the tip. Since I'm driving back on Sunday.
'Can I expect actions like 'quickly expanding something and then not being able to put it back together'?'
It's not performing as well as it should, even though the owner is very enthusiastic about working on it. The car is still running reasonably well for now.

Yesterday, on the highway, it was running willingly again, reaching 180-190 km/h without any loss of power.
Since there's a speed limit of 120 km/h here in Belgium, I don't really like to exceed it *that* often.
The idling noise and increased fuel consumption remain. Regarding fuel consumption:
What fuel consumption do you think my car should have? I once drove a Golf with a 1.4-liter engine.
'Even when driving as aggressively as possible, it didn't go above 7; my Audi won't even go that low...'

If we're talking about the needle lift valve, have I understood correctly that each nozzle/cylinder...?
Does anyone have one? If something is available for trade, which would come first - the needle valve distributor or the ESP (Electrical Spark Plug)?

Thank you for your suggestions.

Rainer.

Your guess is correct!

Group 13 provides the correction values for individual cylinders for idle speed control.
In the following table, you can see the target values for various motors.

http://www.dieselschrauber.de/Solldaten_4_Zylinder_VE.html

Unfortunately, there are no target values for your 1Z in group 13, but they should ideally remain within the range of -2 to +2 [md/H].
That's why the mechanic's exclamation mark!

'With my AHU=1Z, the values are also different, but still within acceptable limits (currently 132 TKm).'
1. Cyl. 0.89
2. Cyl. 0.25
4. Cyl. 1.34;

With 190,000 kilometers on the engine, the injectors aren't performing optimally anymore, which explains the significant variation in performance between the individual cylinders.

Hope I could help a little.

Best regards, Georg.

Nein! Es gibt nur einen am 3. Cylinder.
If the Hall sensor is defective, it can cause hard misfires (like ignition misfires). Therefore, I suspect that the Hall sensor is working correctly.
