Hello everyone,
After I registered, I was immediately asked some tough questions.
'After my colleague's diesel pump contacts on the auxiliary heater corroded, and the auxiliary heater consequently stopped working, here are my questions:'
1. Price of a new booster pump (110 HP TDI, older model)?
2. Expansion/Extension: What happens to the diesel lines? Will the tank run empty if I disconnect the hoses?
3. An exploded diagram of the pump would also be helpful.
4. Can it be disassembled to allow for the soldering of new connections, or is it a disposable part?
Sure, you're welcome.

Hello,
Take a look at www.sgaf.de. You can find good guides on the topic of auxiliary heaters in the archive or under the "Links" section. It seems to be a very informative topic, regardless of the model or whether it's a 3kW or 5kW auxiliary heater. You can probably notice the onset of winter more clearly there than on Kachelmann's website, as the posts related to the air conditioning system decrease and the posts related to the auxiliary heater increase.
Best regards,
Christian.

Okay,
Right now, I'm not really interested in fixing my broken air conditioning system (Galaxy TDI, manufactured in 11/01).
I am often 'out and about' at the SGAF, but I haven't found an answer to my questions.
It would be important to know: Is it sufficient to simply clamp the hose connections to the pump with cable ties or something similar when disassembling, or are they under such pressure that diesel will leak out?
I'd like to try soldering new connections first, and then we can buy a new dosing pump on eBay if necessary.
Hello,

Hello gs,
'I did this last year: I disconnected the fuel lines, screwed screws (M6?) into the ends of the hoses - a few drops of diesel leaked out. I removed the pump, cleaned the connections with fine sandpaper, and soldered the wires. I removed the rust from the pump body, wrapped cardboard around the pump body, and poured resin over the connection side.'
It's not possible to disassemble it, everything is sealed. I also drove without a pump - nothing happened.
I'm not entirely sure, but we've saved at least over €130 in material costs.
Good luck!
Helmut.
