In the 4th. According to the gauge, 500 rpm corresponds to approximately 35 km/h, which means that the car would have to slow down even further when the accelerator is pressed.
IMO, one wouldn't choose such a "gentle" description in this case -> somehow, the whole thing doesn't feel right to me.
