I have a small problem.
I have an DRV KL-license for VAG-COM. Now I have a new laptop.
'...but unfortunately, it doesn't have a serial port.'
Yesterday, I tried the whole thing using a USB-to-COM adapter.
Result: The connection test is working, but the connection to the control units is not working.
It recognizes the MSG and then returns to the main menu in VAG-COM - so it works.
No. The OBD-II compatibility test failed with the following error message:
Test status: Test complete.
Result: Incorrect sync byte: $BD.
Please try again.
What settings do I need to change for it to work? Or is it a problem with the USB-to-serial adapter? Would it make sense to try a different USB adapter?
Thank you for your help.
Since you already have a software license, you could, for example, purchase a genuine USB diagnostic interface here in our shop. Your license will then be applied to the purchase, even if it's from DRV.
The advantages are obvious: no more USB issues, and you can also use the latest versions of VAG-COM.
