Hello.
Last week, I had the timing belt replaced on my Passat 3B5, manufactured in 7/97, 1.9 TDI with AHU engine (timing belt part number: 028 109 119 P) at a VAG service center. Today, I noticed that the service sticker in the engine compartment indicates the next timing belt replacement should be done after 120,000 km. The old sticker showed 90,000 km. (The old sticker was unused, and a new sticker was included in the bill).
Before I formally contact Volkswagen in writing, because a verbal confirmation from the workshop regarding an extended service interval would likely not be sufficient in the event of a dispute:
Does anyone know if VW has extended the service interval?
Thank you for all the contributions.
Claus.
Do they calculate a sticker price at VW...? I can't take it anymore.
I would contact the VAG service center; they should confirm in writing that the car has 120,000 km, and that should be good. But they will definitely calculate it.
