My Passat consumes about 10 liters of diesel in the city, and I find that to be too much.
What are you using? What can I do? What readings are obtained during the VCDS test?
Interesting? Do you have any VAG-COM comparison values for me?
Thank you.
Knarf.

Good evening.

"When driving in the city, from traffic light to traffic light, with many short stretches where only the inverter runs without any bridging, it seems okay. However, if there are mostly longer stretches of driving, it might be a bit excessive."
"My Golf with a 100 horsepower Tiptronic transmission consumes about 9 liters of fuel. It can be as low as 7.5-8 liters if driven mostly without stopping, or as high as 12 liters if driven constantly in stop-and-go traffic or with a lot of acceleration."
Everything is determined using MFA.

The stated fuel consumption for the Golf is 8.6-8.8 liters per 100 kilometers in the city. I believe the Passat consumes around 10 liters.

Me too.

VW leaves the torque converter unlocked for too long.
(and then they still call it "Tiptronic" - Porsche would be ashamed).
Turn the grave around icon_wink.gif).

For comparison: My in-laws' Viano has a 2.2 CDI engine and...
it also needs a 5-speed automatic transmission (110 kW, 2,040 kg curb weight).
In the city, it consumes around 10-11 liters.

"I also find the fuel consumption of the Golf/Passat, when considered in relation to its power-to-weight ratio, to be..."
too high.

Interestingly, regarding the specifications from Benz (for urban driving), but:

EU3: 11.6 L
EU4: 12.7 L icon_eek.gif

This extreme difference is only observed with automatic transmissions.
For manual transmissions, the ratio is 11.2 / 11.4.

That's all about environmental protection... icon_confused.gif
