Hi,

I would like to compare the following engines:
2.5 TDI engine from Audi 100, type 44, engine code 1T.
against
2.5 TDI engine from Audi 100, type C4, engine code AAT.

What is the nozzle opening pressure of the nozzles?
What is the diameter of the holes in the nozzles?
Are the injectors from the 1T engine the same type as those used in the AAT, with a 5-hole design?

Could you take an AAT engine block and add the 1T injectors and the 1T ESP (electronic stabilizer)? Would the engine then run smoothly? (Of course, the MSG [engine control unit] and other components would need to be from the 1T).

I'm a little concerned that the geometry of the pistons from the AAT and 1T engines might not be the same, and therefore the spray pattern of the 1T injectors might not be compatible with the AAT pistons.

Thank you and best regards.
Jens.

Hi,

It seems that nobody here knows anything about this. icon_confused.gif

How can I find information about the nozzles for the 1T engine?
According to VW documentation, the 1T and early AAT engines use the same pistons, so there are no differences there.

I would be interested in knowing the nozzle hole size of the 1T nozzles.

Regards,
Jens.

Hello.
As far as I know, the 1T engine has 260 injectors in the valve springs, and that's why it doesn't meet Euro 2 standards. I'm not sure what else is different.
Best regards,
Dirk

"I have no idea about the diameter, but the 1T model also had a dual-spring clip."
