Today, I replaced the glow plugs in my Golf3 with a AAZ diesel engine.

After I finished the work and took it for a test drive, I noticed that the idle speed was about 100 RPM higher than before. It seems a bit too high to me, and it's now at approximately 1100 RPM.

Could this be related to the new spark plugs?

I can't quite figure this out. I already replaced the glow plugs two years ago. However, I didn't notice this behavior back then.

I am grateful for any help.

Andreas.

Hello,
The spark plugs can't really be blamed; but why are you replacing them every 2 years?
Best regards,
Günther.

Well, this morning my battery wasn't working properly. I called the ADAC (German roadside assistance) for a jump start. The technician said that I should also replace the glow plugs, as the engine started a bit rough even after the jump start. Anyway, it cost 6€, and a reliable starting behavior was really important to me. I had also thought that the old ones might still be good.

Andreas.

Enjoy your meal!

With a warmed-up engine and the KSB not engaged, 1100?
Clearly too high.

If you insert the KSB, does the ESP lever move back with it?
Or does it remain in the starting position?

Did you have to rotate the ESP module to change it?
Is Facebook configured correctly?

If inexpensive shock absorbers don't last long, perhaps more expensive ones are a better solution. What do you think?
Are they at least afterglow-capable?

Hi, Jockel.
