Engine Swap: R5 vs. V6 - Which is Best?

The search function didn't yield any results. So, for a conversion, I have two engine options to choose from (I'm a real DIYer): the AEL or the AKN. The engine (either the AEL or the AKN) will definitely fit in my Audi B4, but I'm not sure which one is better. So, I'd appreciate your opinions.

AEL:
Low fuel consumption, but higher taxes and potentially sluggish acceleration (turbo lag).

AKN:
Smooth running, but prone to issues (mass airflow sensor, turbo, and camshaft).
