Hello!

My fuel temperature sensor was broken (it looked like a glass diode and simply cracked). I ordered a new one from the local Bosch service center for 15 euros. He came up with a sensor for the new (Vp37) ESP and said it fits 100% (the new one is made of plastic).

Drove it home and tried it out >> It didn't fit mechanically >> got angry and made it fit mechanically (had to trim some plastic) >> now I'm just wondering if it has the same values as the original.

I measured approximately 980 ohms with a partially empty fuel tank, an outside temperature of 18°C, and an engine temperature of 90°C (actual 90°C). Is that okay?

EDIT: I just took it for a 5-minute test drive and then measured it >> 280 Ohms!!
That sounds pretty hot, doesn't it?

I suppose they probably just left the sensor itself the same, but made it more resistant to breakage by adding a protective casing or something?

If you need to quickly measure something, >> Pins 5 and 6 on the ESP are connected to the temperature sensor.
