Hello,
I would like to buy new summer tires in the size 205/60 R15 for my Audi.
I came across the Bridgestone Potenza RE720!
Does anyone here have experience with this tire and can share some information about it, especially regarding its wear?

Does anyone else have a good recommendation? It could also be a bit cheaper than the Potenza. The Dunlop Sport 01 is supposed to have very high wear, but otherwise it's supposed to be excellent.
Conti is not an option; it's too expensive and of poor quality!
High driving safety on wet roads is important to me.

Best regards,

Last year, I had Bridgestone Turanza tires on my car, and I was very satisfied with them. If I remember correctly, they also performed well in the ADAC test a few weeks ago... They seem to be more focused on comfort and durability than the Potenza tires.

"So, regarding that specific size, I can't really find any fault with the Conti Premium tires, except maybe for the wear and tear."

On a Vectra B 2.0 16V, though.

I have the Premium Contact 1 tires on my Mercedes, and they are very good.

The Premium Contact 2 is supposed to be even better in wet conditions, according to all the tests in AMuS and other publications.

Hello,

'About a year ago, I bought the Dunlop SP Sport 01 tires in the size 205/60 R15 H (Made in Germany) for my Golf IV.'
Shortly after purchasing them, I was able to test the tires in a safety training session, including in wet conditions, and I believe they are a very good tire.

However, the wear is higher compared to the Conti Eco Contact CP tires in size 195/65 R15 H, which were originally installed. The Conti tires lasted 60,000 km for me, and the Dunlop tires will likely only last 50,000 km.
The improved wet grip performance likely requires a softer compound, which consequently results in slightly higher wear.

Best regards,

Frank.

Hello,
I just bought the Dunlop Sport 01 tires.
In my opinion, it's a tire with a very good price-performance ratio. The Continental tires are much more expensive, but not necessarily better. The Dunlop tire is also 'Made in Germany.'
I got it from my parts guy for 62€, which is a great price. I'll let you know how it performs once I've ridden it.

Good morning.

I also once had the Conti EcoContact2: Never again Conti... icon_sad.gif

Currently, I have the Pneumant PN550 tires installed, and I'm very happy with them. They're affordable and generally good (especially in wet conditions).

Pneumant is part of Dunlop and has two factories in Germany.

Best regards,
Mathias.

Hello!
Regarding size, I would recommend two options: one in the mid-price range and one in the lower price range. For the mid-range, I'd suggest the Uniroyal R550, and for the lower price range, the new Hankook K406. I only sell tires from brands like Continental and Michelin to customers who specifically request them, as their pricing policies can be quite extreme. Bridgestone... I don't think any other manufacturer has such a wide variety of rubber compounds. Depending on the type, you might be lucky and get a well-balanced tire with good grip and durability, or you might get one that simply sticks to the road like glue, but in that case, it might only last for a little over 30,000 km (at least, that's what I've observed in my workshop...).

Best regards,

Dominique.
