Heated Mirrors: A New Approach!

I'm having a different problem with my driver's side exterior mirror.
It's heating up now, even when it's turned off!!!
Has anyone else experienced something like this?

The passenger-side mirror functions normally and can also be turned off.

1.9 TDI

I think your switch might not be disconnecting properly anymore. Have you ever replaced it?

I doubt that, because the driver's side mirror, passenger side mirror, and rear window defroster should all be connected to the same wire behind the switch.

I suspect you have a broken wire, which is causing the driver's side mirror to heat up continuously. A likely culprit would be the wiring harness that runs to the driver's door. Take a look inside there.
