Hello, can I install an EBJ transmission on an ALH engine in a Golf IV?
It's not listed in the transmission specifications for the ALH engine. Maybe someone here knows. Thank you, best regards, Bernd. Golf IV - ALH - Erstzulassung 9/99 |

Hi,
Yes, of course, this combination was also originally installed (e.g., in mine).

Thanks, I was wondering about that because the transmission isn't listed for the G4 in the forum, but it is listed for the A3.
Why did you modify yours? Did yours not hold up to the tuning?
How is it translated? Do you remember what your tire pressure was around 180 km/h?
Thank you! Golf IV - ALH - Erstzulassung 9/99 |

Hi,
"No, it wasn't disassembled. I just found the long axle ratio in the ASD to be good, and I got it for a very good price." "That's when I thought I'd give it a try."
"Originally, it had a 0.756 ratio in the 5th gear, which was roughly 180 km/h at 4000 RPM (please don't focus on the exact 1-2 km/h difference, it was a while ago). Then I installed a 0.717 ratio, which resulted in approximately 190 km/h at 4000 RPM."

@Frank, Thanks, sounds good. Didn't you recently have an engine failure, or was it someone else?
@kixxass
I'm currently waiting for my programmable engine control unit (ECU). In tuning mode, it should produce around 140 horsepower with 0.216-size injectors. Let's see how it performs. If it's not enough, I can also upgrade to 11mm pistons. Golf IV - ALH - Erstzulassung 9/99 |

Hello,
The EBJ is compatible with your ALH; I've installed one in my car as well. Previously, I had an EGR with the same axle ratio and transmission gearing as the EBJ.
