Noises from the engine when starting up
Metallic clacking sounds from the powertrain during acceleration in 1st and reverse gear.
Cause.
Due to manufacturing tolerances in the splined connection between the output shaft and the output flange, relative movements can occur, which can lead to noise.
Solution:
In the event of a persistent complaint, proceed as follows:
Remove the driveshaft and output flange.
Interlocking of the drive shaft/drive flange, clean (must be free of oil and grease).
Apply sealant D 185 400 A2 to the connection and reassemble the parts accordingly.
Until the adhesive has fully cured (approximately 3 hours), the bonded joint must not be subjected to any load. Tschüss
