Renault 1.9 DTI has (very) poor starting performance...

Hello everyone,

A friend has a problem with his Renault Megane 1.9DTI... the starter motor cranks, you can see fuel flowing through the lines, but the engine won't start...

If you crank it 3-4-5 times, it will start up somewhat hesitantly and then run without any problems...

The car has 216,000 km on the odometer, and the last service was 5,000 km ago...
Where should we start looking...? I was thinking about the diesel filter, but fuel is definitely being promoted...The spark plugs are new (although they're not being replaced)...He also has a new battery...and the fault code is EMPTY

wie siehst du denn den Kraftstoff fliessen ???

Ich kann das nur sehen, wenn da Luftblasen drin sind. Und genau die sind dann fuer schlechtes Anspringen verantwortlich.

Wenn da wirklich Blasen drin sind, macht mal die Schlaeuche dicht, dass da keine Luft mehr rein kann.

[Translating...]Nun diese Blasen habe ich auch im Golf (III+IV) TDI und in meinem Leon wenn der Motor aus ist...sobald der Anlasser läuft verschwinden sie...

Ist bei dem Renault auch so... von daher...denke mal da liegt nicht das Problem, oder meinst du das leiern kommt vom (nötigen) Entlüften?

[Translating...]Es liegt sehr nahe dass die Blasen etwas zu tun haben mit dem schlechten Anspringen. Überprüfe mal die kraftstoffleitungen auf lose Schellen oder undichte Stellen im System.
