Hello community,

This weekend, I replaced the wheel bearings and brake pads all around.
Now, all the work has been successfully completed. icon_smile.gif

However, there's one thing I've noticed where I need your confirmation.

When I was replacing the rear wheel bearings and brake pads, I noticed that the brake pads were not original VW. They were from a company called JUNO or something like that. icon_rolleyes.gif
The left cheek was torn (across the middle), and the right side had a leaking seal.

I bought my Golf with 64,000 kilometers from the first owner. That's why I assumed that, especially the rear braking system, would be original given the mileage.

Now, the questions:

Does the dealership only use original parts for repairs?

What kind of manufacturer is JUNO?
(I've searched on Google, but I found everything except for information related to my topic icon_evil.gif).

Thank you in advance.

Georg.

Regarding the manufacturer, I can't say anything specific, but in my case, after 2 years and 42,000 km, the outer brake pad on the left rear wheel also detached from the plate and was fractured multiple times. The rotor had no warping or anything like that. I replaced the brakes on the rear. While doing so, I also noticed that a pad on the right rear wheel was also detaching from the plate. So much for the quality of the original equipment.

That's all there is to say about original equipment manufacturer quality...

And that's after 42,000 kilometers!
