Hello!
My name is Dennis, I am 26 years old, and I have the following problem:
I drive a Volkswagen Golf 3 TDI, manufactured in 1996, with an 81 kW engine and engine code AFN.

The diagnosis revealed: faulty control unit.

To be precise, the control unit probably can no longer recognize it.
"How much boost does the turbocharger produce, and that's why he's driving like that."
Emergency program that protects the engine from overload.

The result is poor performance.

However, according to the diagnosis, both the turbocharger and the mass airflow sensor are functioning correctly.

I have tried several times to get an engine control unit (ECU) from a scrapyard.
Unfortunately, without success.

Does anyone here know of any alternative control units I could use?
Can you recommend a place where I can get my own [device/item] repaired at a reasonable price?
could allow?

The number is 028 906 021 JG (Bosch).

I am grateful for any well-intentioned advice.

Best regards, Dennis.

Hi,

Is the pressure hose connecting the turbocharger to the control unit disconnected or does it have a hole?
Someone in this forum has already experienced a failure of the boost pressure sensor in the control unit. Try searching to see if you can find anything related to that.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello.

I have one more lying around. We could try installing it for testing purposes. If you're interested, just send me a private message.

Best regards, Cosi.
