Golf4, ALH engine, Highline trim, 188,000 km, all original.

Hello everyone,

'I adjusted the pump setting slightly about two weeks ago. Before that, according to the TDI graph, it was a bit below the blue center line. Now it's a little higher, just above the ideal line.'
I did that to improve the warm-up performance.

Interestingly, at the same time, MFA is also calculating consumption differently.
The consumption has decreased slightly (calculated from 5.2 to 5.0).
However, the MFA reading shows 10% less, at 4.6-4.7.
That really shouldn't be the case.
I'm starting to think that the pump is quite worn out.

Could that indicate something? icon_eek.gif

No, because for the multi-fuel adaptation (MFA), the injection quantities determined according to the characteristic map/driver request are used.

Best regards, Matthias.

I've now driven another 1000 km.
The MFA (Multi-Function Display) shows 4.7 liters, but the actual fuel consumption was 4.98 liters.

Previously, the MFA was surprisingly accurate (within +/- 0.05 liters).

I don't understand it; besides a slight adjustment to the static pump setting, everything is the same as before: the same driving style, the same route, the same tires, the same gas station, etc.

I have the impression that the calculation is particularly inaccurate at low engine load.
Can someone explain this?

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

'MFG' stands for 'Mit freundlichen Grüßen,' which translates to 'Sincerely' or 'Best regards' in English. It is a common way to end a formal letter or email.

No, I don't have an explanation readily available right now.
For many AI systems, you can customize the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). STG17 --> 10 (Adjustment) --> Channel 03.

Best regards, Matthias.

I had to adjust that setting previously because it was displaying too much information, which is also why I suspected wear on the pump. The fuel consumption reading was at 95%, and it was surprisingly accurate.

Now, after the pump adjustment, I had to go back to 100%. I'm currently in the process of 'finding out' how accurate it is.

'Just where is the connection between pump settings and MFA?'
