Hello, I would like my car alarm to sound a beep when I lock or unlock it.
I configured it as follows:

-> Channel 06 (Unlock Horn)
The unlocking is confirmed with a short beep (0 = off; 1 = on).
According to the German legislature, it is not approved.

-> Channel 07 (Locking horn)
The locking is confirmed with a short beep (0 = off; 1 = on).
According to the German legislature, it is not approved.

So, both are set to the value 1!

He's not honking.

VW T5, first registration 02/27/2007, Multivan, 2.5 TDI, 128 kW, automatic transmission.

Does anyone have any ideas?

This can only be done with the factory alarm system.
A diode is installed on the cable running from the comfort control unit to the turn signal relay, and a chirper from Conrad, costing only a few euros, is connected before the diode.
If the turn signal activation in your vehicle is controlled via CAN bus, then this simple solution will not work.

Best regards, Matthias.

If there's a DWA (device for water damage), the horn might also be submerged.

Best regards,

Luckily!

What the hell are you talking about? Do you really think your neighbors care if your car alarm is on when you come home at night?

How can someone be so inconsiderate, constantly bothering their fellow citizens for such a silly show?

That's not really very loud at all. If the neighbor is woken up by someone banging on the door, at least he knows that if he has to leave his neighbor's wife! icon_biggrin.gif

And another neon tube under the bus...

It's good that I don't understand some problems!

@dieter
The DWA horn emits a subtle chirping sound.

It is still a completely unnecessary annoyance and is therefore not permitted.
If someone feels the need to boost their ego with such nonsense, they should probably consider seeking therapy.

It might be different with the Multivan, but with the Ibiza, the alarm is so incredibly loud that it's really unpleasant. People can still hear it and turn around from 20 meters away.

My friendly technician had kindly activated it for me when I asked him to disable the individual locking feature icon_rolleyes.gif.
Well, one day later, I ordered my VAG-COM icon_wink.gif.

It's quite subtle on the Golf IV!

Tom (no horn!)

My A8 also beeps very briefly. It's not the horn, but a beeping sound coming from the trunk. I find it relatively useful because the sound only appears when all the doors are closed. If the car is locked and a door isn't properly closed, there's no sound. My car doesn't have a turn signal indicator yet, and the vacuum pump in the trunk is very quiet, so I would have to look at the buttons anyway to know if it's closed, even without the sound. It's always been like this, and it's never bothered me. When unlocking, it's silent.

Arne.

I activated the horn to sound when the car alarm is triggered in my Golf V.
That's a very short beep, and on the Golf V's alarm system, a siren is used instead of a horn.
I also set it up so that I can disable it in MFA+ if needed.

Best regards.

The Golf IV is quite subtle!

Tom (no honking!)

'...but in my case (with my G IV), the central ventilation system is so loud that it would probably drown out any other sounds, like honking, chirping, or whatever. Every time I hear it, I think someone is shooting at me.'
Even in a large parking lot, I can still hear my car's central locking system closing from a distance of 10 meters away.
I don't need that.

Mine is also very loud. No one has commented on the honking, but they have commented on the sounds of the central locking motor. icon_wink.gif
