Golf IV TDI Gearbox Damage: Causes & Repair

Hello everyone!
Does anyone have any information about gearbox problems in the Golf IV TDI-PD with the 115 hp engine and a 6-speed gearbox?
I received it at the end of February and recently heard about this issue, which naturally worries me. Apparently, it's a common problem with that machine. Mine has run for approximately 50,000 kilometers (manufactured in 2000).
Does anyone know more about this, and perhaps has tips for prevention or warranty repairs?
