Sure.
"The Little One" did it, he finally got to drive my Passat.
Under the child seat, I had quite a few towels , but the strap was lying unprotected in the... sun.
What can I use to clean it / what should I absolutely not use to clean it, so that it no longer smells but still lasts?}
Greetings.

And you said...nothing will happen .
Based on my experience (though not long-term testing): Use plenty of water, a neutral cleaner, and then, like the old-fashioned way, wipe it down with a cloth and let it dry.

Hello Martin,
Do you not want to drive slowly?
Based on my experience, I can support Matthias' suggestion.
The best way to do it is with neutral soap and a nail brush.
Welcome to the club!
I agree with that .
Best regards, Jochen.

"...but please don't rub too hard with the brush. Otherwise, the piece of webbing will look like a felt carpet. It's better to first try using a cloth and possibly some kernel soap. There's no gentler way."

Hi, as someone who has experienced this multiple times: residue left after soap baths usually comes out very well with a (upholstery/carpet) stain remover.
I suspect "he" was in a car seat, i.e., facing backwards? As they grow bigger, the vomiting rate decreases, and then they can sit facing forward! These high-seas hats with neck protection are really trendy!

No.
He was sitting in the brand new Römer Kidfix, and he complained so much that his French mineral water was disgusting, until he thought he had to prove it.
Thanks to the vomit-deflecting shield (hand over the mouth), most of it ended up on him... and, of course, on the belt.
Ah, one more tip: The thing about putting coffee grounds in the car actually works.
Now not only are my cushions "latte macchiato" colored, they also smell like it.
You just have to make sure you don't put your nose too close to the seatbelt on the right side of the back seat.

There's not much better you can recommend for the smell than Febreze. This stuff really works. For cleaning, you can also use diluted vinegar (it evaporates, and after treating it with Febreze, it should be okay again).
It's even more annoying when it happens with a new car . Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!

You could also submerge a belt in a bucket of water and give it a hand wash. 1993 Audi 80 B4 1Z

Now,
Where I expanded the seating area, that works.
Because the strap was "stuck" just before the lower attachment point... and I would have definitely spilled that bucket of water onto the upholstery.

Okay, so...
Seat is back in (almost perfectly clean).
Bought Febreze.
If there are no tremors later, the belt will be cleaned and sterilized.
Thank you for the tips.
