Hi.
I'm having a problem with my car (ARL - likely an engine code). It's been shaking again in cold weather. It only happens during the first five to ten minutes after a cold start, and then it goes away.
What I've noticed is that there's a slight bluish smoke coming out at the start, but it disappears later when the misfire goes away.
What could it be?
Do I have VAG-Com? Could I provide you with some data using it?
What do I need to log in with? I don't have much experience with this.
Best regards,

yusuf

Hello,

I'm not an expert, but there could be many causes, for example, a faulty glow plug system.
For me, it was the same with the ARL (Abgasrückführung system), but only in the winter, and it had to be really cold. After deactivating the AGR, it disappeared!

Before you get in the car in the morning, just briefly check the hose.
Close the can, seal it, and write down whether it helped.

But be careful, the warning light is on, and the ABE (approval) might be invalid!

Hi.
Okay, I'll try it out in the next few days.
Glow plug system, ignition timing - all checked. OK.
Got it brand new last year.
-LMM
-AGR
Let's see, I'll post it later.

Okay, thank you, I'm looking forward to it.

It was also mentioned here that there is a special 'reduced-thickness gasket' for the EGR system icon_smile.gif specifically designed to address this type of symptom and resolve these issues.

You shouldn't have to live with the warning light permanently. Alternatively, it's possible to adjust the EGR rate via the OBD interface, but only within a minimal range.

This is only if the problem is truly narrowed down to this.
