AAZ Injection Pump Replacement

I would like to get a replacement ESP (injection pump) before having it converted to a PÖL (different injection pump type) and prepare it with new seals. (This is for a Golf III GT, GTD Variant, 75 hp, AAZ engine, manufactured in 01/94. The ESP is type VE4/9F2300R433-2, and the number on the pump is still R433-2 BS 4022).
In the TD models, the 433-4 (air conditioning) was also installed, and in the Passat models, the VE4/ 9F2200R603-2 or 604 (air conditioning) was used. Does anyone have experience with whether I need the exact same ESP unit, or if the differences are negligible?

The engine will run with all the pumps; for example, I'm using an ESP pump from a 1.6-liter (SB) engine on my AAZ engine.

ESP systems from the Golf have a boost pressure enrichment feature, while those from the Passat do not, so choose the Golf.
In the Golf, there were many different ESP (Electronic Stability Program) versions. A rough way to distinguish them is whether the fuel injection timing is adjusted by rotating the ESP itself or by adjusting a variable drive wheel. ESP units from later model years also have a pressure sensor in the high-pressure section.

ESP systems for vehicles with air conditioning often also include additional components that, for example, increase the low-speed limit when the air conditioning is running. However, it is possible to switch between different ESP systems.

Depending on your crafting skills and how familiar you are with ESP (Electronic Stability Program) systems, you can choose any ESP unit you like. If it's just a temporary solution until the original ESP is repaired, even a (cheaper) 1.6-liter naturally aspirated ESP unit will work. The car will still run with it, although with slightly less power.
