Today, I'm going to try to pressure test the system to see if there might be a leak in a hose or other component.
Good plan. icon_wink.gif

Okay, please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English. I will only provide the translation.
Okay, so today I went to Seat and picked up a replacement hose for the charge air duct because the old one had a crack.

Okay, here's the translation:

"Just took it for a test drive, wow, this thing has some serious power!"
However, the joy was short-lived. The longer you drive, the more power seems to be lost. I then did another test drive; initially, it pulled normally, but then there was a lack of power in the higher RPM range, and very quickly it went into limp mode.
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate into English.

Perhaps someone has a suspicion? I haven't found anything yet.

Best regards, Peter.

Bitte gib mir den deutschen Text, den du übersetzt haben möchtest.

. I suspect it might be a VTG clamp that gets worse with increasing temperature.

Run the VAGCOM actuator diagnosis for the turbocharger pressure control and observe the stroke of the variable turbine geometry (VTG) rod: once after a cold start, and then with a warm engine.

Hello Peter,

I suspect it's a VTG clamp that gets worse with increasing temperature.
The stuck VTG (variable turbine geometry) could be a consequence of excessive turbocharger lag caused by the defective intercooler hose.

Often, even a longer and faster drive on the highway can help remove dirt from the turbocharger.
Then, an LDA (Load Detection and Alarm) would be very important to detect a VTG (Ventil-Triebwerk-Gerät) that is stuck in the end position and to prevent it from being operated temporarily with 2 bar of charging pressure icon_eek.gif.
You shouldn't always wait until things reach a crisis point.

Best regards, Kassen.

Here's one more final log entry.
4th gear, full throttle.
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate into English.

After a short drive on the highway, the boost pressure control seems to be working reasonably well. However, occasionally when I'm in fourth gear, if I brake and downshift to third, then quickly accelerate again, it still seems to be sticking slightly.
Hopefully, it will get even better, but so far, everything is working as expected during normal operation.

Thanks again for your help.
