Squealing or grinding noises in all gears (primarily in 5th gear) when driving at slightly lower engine speeds. Cause: Sound transmission via the console/external control panel into the vehicle interior. The console is equipped with acoustic decoupling. VAG recommends avoiding any repairs or, in particular, a gearbox replacement. Only in persistent cases will a replacement be carried out through the product support service.
