Passat TDI 2002: Euro 3 Specs & Info

Hello.

I was offered a Passat, manufactured in May 2002, with a 74 kW PD engine.
The letter only mentions €3.
How can that be?
It was previously a rental car.

Should I stay away from it?

I might be able to get it for a good price...

"... that's normal! The Passat is only available with the EU3 engine (ATD). The AXR engine is only used in the G4, Touran, and Polo."

Okay, the issue with the rental car is a problem in itself. However, given the current warranty conditions (2 years of factory warranty), I don't see it as a major problem.
